If you are looking for a great place to vacation,look no further.The management and staff are excellent.The food,drinks,beach,rooms are the best in Jamaica.This was our third trip this year stayed eight days and will going back in January.Thanks again Natalia,Sandra and staff for another great getaway.Bobby & Ileana

My wife and I decided to go with the RIU Palace Tropical Bay for our honeymoon strictly based off the reviews from other vacationers on this site. We knew after the first day at the resort that we made the right choice. The food was excellent. We ate buffets for breakfast lunch dinner. It never got old. The staff was really friendly. The locals were actually friendly also. Of course they tried to sell us stuff but they were not pushy like most would think. The beach was awesome! I would definitely recommend the RIU Palace Tropical Bay for someone who is looking for a great resort at a great price. Only thing I can think of that I can complain about is the beds. Their definition of a king size bed is two fulls or queens pushed together. Other than that our honeymoon was perfect.!!

STAYED 5 DAYS AND ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE.BEACH IS THE BEST IN JAMAICA.FOOD WAS GREAT AND ENDLESS--DONT KNOW HOW ANYONE COULD COMPLAIN.NAME YOUR DRINK AND THEY WILL MAKE IT.ROOMS ARE AWESOME AND CLEAN.THE GENERAL MANAGER AND HER STAFF ARE TOP NOTCH.SMALL TIPS GO A LONG WAY.TRY SOME OFFSHORE FISHING--THEY WILL SET IT UP FOR YOU.ITS CHEAP AND YOU WILL GET SOME GREAT FISH.TIP THE MATE AND CAPTAIN AND BRING SOME BACK TO THE RESORT.THE HEAD CHEF WILL PREPARE YOUR CATCH FOR YOU.GOING BACK IN AUGUST FOR ANOTHER WEEK!! I have visited Negril Jamaica three times and stayed in both Riu Palace and Riu Club Resorts. My first trip was to Ocho Rios and i stayed at a Sandals Resort. On my second and third trip i stayed in Negril at each of the Riu Properties. The friendliness and service that you receive at the Riu Resorts is excellent!! From the time we checked in with a Cold Frozen Miami Vice #40delicious and cool#41 and our bags being delivered promptly to our suite the beautiful white sand beach with the luscious tropicaI surroundings! I cant wait to go back to Riu Palace Tropical Bay Resort. I enjoyed both properties but i am in my 50s and prefer the more laid back atmosphere that the Riu Palace offers. My last trip September 2009 i took my mom my aunt sister and daughter. My Aunt was able to check off a couple of things on her bucket list!! My husband and I will be returning September 2010 and plan on staying at the Riu Palace Tropical Bay!!

It was our first time going to Jamaica and my husband and I had an excellent time. The bus ride was 90 minutes both ways but it didnt seem to take that long. The hotel was nice and well kept. The room was clean and the bathroom was decent. Id read a lot of reviews before booking this hotel and although it wasnt a five star hotel Im glad we picked it. It is true about the beds. They are two beds pushed together and the beds were a little firm. No biggie though. Also there was a leak in our closet towards the end of our stay but they seemed to have fixed it. The beach was very nice. The sand wasnt white but it was soft and the water was clear. The pools werent big but we came for the beach =0 #41. The food was decent. I loved the breakfasts but then again Im a breakfast person. We tried 2 restaurants #40Hakuchi and Krystal#41 and we were not impressed. The salmon and chocolate cake my husband got at Krystals were the best thing we tried. The main buffet was okay--better than most places Id been to in the US. The Jerk Hut was awesome though! We enjoyed it! Id never had jerk chicken before and it was tasty. Before coming I wondered about tipping. We tipped a couple of dollars to almost everyone #40waiter housekeeper bartender etc#41 just because they worked so hard. We brought a lot of single dollar bills. There are a few hotel-approved vendors that came to the hotel a couple of nights and they sold arts and crafts. I would recommend that you buy souvenirs at the airport though. Less hassle to pack and some items are cheaper. Id recommend this hotel!
